When my health stopped me rambling about with my camera, I decided to spend my time photographing the visitors to my garden through the glass of the kitchen window. The birds are especially used to seeing me there and I gradually introduced the Tripod and Canon 7D with 300 mm f4 lens.

Dressing the feeders with greenery made for a more pleasing image.


To capture the birds in flight I used manual focusing  and as fast a shutter speed as the lighting conditions would allow.


The first five images are of a Great Tit with eyes bigger than it’s beak !
